The silver lining is that he lived a full rich life of love, and was then able to join grandma, my mom and her brother Tom. Those that knew him know he had a generous heart and an appreciation for life. He will be missed by countless. I went to the gas station and bought a Hostess apple pie on Saturday, and reminisced the days the Hostess truck would pull up to our home in Bellevue and he would allow my sister and I to select one item each. It is the hardest on those left behind, but we have an important job to carry on traditions.

Barbi and Michael,
As we all say good-bye to Grandpa Tom today, I want you both to know what a wonderful gift he was to our lives. I will always cherish the Christmas card he sent the first year that he reconnected with Claire. He reached out to all of us with love and it never stopped. I am thankful we were able to spent a night with him last month and again tell him how much we cared about him. Claire loves the three of you so much and we have always been made to feel that we were part of your family. I hope we always will.
Much love to you both, and, of course, to Grandpa Tom who will live in our hearts forever. We hope you will land our our doorsteps some day soon. I will make you maraschino coconut cookies with the life-time supply of maraschino cherries provided to us by Michael for Claire's wedding shower!
Love,
Karen and Jim
