Vernon LeRoy LUNDE|
Vernon LeRoy Lunde went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 2, 2014. He left behind his four children: Karen, Kathy, Ross, and Kay; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as his brother Everard, and his sisters Lorraine, Delores, and Ardelle.
Vernon was born in Union North Dakota on September 7, 1925. During the Depression and the Dust Bowl the family moved several times. In 1940 they left North Dakota and moved to Silverton Oregon. In 1942, they moved to Bremerton Washington where Vernon worked in the Navy yard as an electrician's helper. After serving the Navy in World War II he met his soon to be bride, Edith Ross. Vern and Edith were married on October 21, 1950. Eventually they settled in Medina and Vern worked construction. They brought up four children while building a construction business. They were members of Grace Lutheran Church for close to 60 years. Vern's passion in life revolved around work and teaching his grandchildren to work hard, embrace life, and give God the glory.
A Memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday April 12th. We ask instead of flowers that a donation be made to Grace Lutheran Church, The Sophia Way, or Synergy Home Care.
