Vickie Marie Whitney

Vickie passed away February 3rd, 2013, in Redmond at the age of 65. She was born on February 18th 1947, at San Diego Naval Hospital, the daughter of David & Juanita Helms. Vickie Helms graduated from Glendale High School in CA then went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in nutrition from Long Beach State, CA. Vickie married Gary Whitney the love of her life on February 1st 1969 and together they enjoyed 44 blessed years of marriage. Vickie is survived by her mother Juanita Helms-Stubbs and brother David Helms Jr. She is also survived by her children Nathan Whitney, Jennifer Whitney, Jill Carter, and grandchildren Madison Whitney, Michaela, Ella and Jackson Carter who are the love of her life. She is preceded in death by her father David Helms Sr. and her son Matthew Whitney.

Vickie was a very faithful and disciplined student of the bible. She was involved with Bible Study Fellowship, Sunday school teaching. She enjoyed volunteering for Heartbeat Serving Wounded Warriors, gardening, attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren, and cruising in their sports car with Gary; the most precious time was time spent with her family.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 at 11:00am. The service will be held at Avondale Bible Church, 17010 Avondale Road NE, Woodinville WA. A private burial for Vickie will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial in Bellevue, WA. For more information on Vickie's journey please visit: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/vickiewhitney.
