Vivian Lucille Hughes|
Vivian passed away at Wesley Homes Healthcare Center of Des Moines on December 23, 2012, at the age of 93.
She was a woman of many interests, dedicated to helping others as a community volunteer. Vivian was active in the Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, scrapbooking, entertaining, camping and traveling. She touched us with her quick wit, warm smile and gracious, generous ways. She accomplished much, and lived a full, complete and positive life.
Vivian Hall was born in Seattle on December 4, 1919 to Oscar Adolf Hall and Mary Ellen East.
She was predeceased in 2006 by her loving husband, Lewellyn, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Vivian graduated from Bryn Mawr grade school in 1934, Franklin High School in 1938, and studied at the U of W School of Nursing from 1938-1940. Vivian and Lew lived in Olympia, Lakewood, Renton, Bryn Mawr and Wesley View and Wesley Gardens in Des Moines.
She is survived by her sons, Dallas and Richard;daughter, Mary Ellen; grandchildren, Shalas, Pierre, Adam & Hunter; great grandchildren, Shelsea and Brooklynn; and nephew, Leonard.
Vivian was a warm and wise friend, devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother; an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. At her request, there will be no service.
Donations in her memory are suggested by the family to Highline Home Health & Hospice of Tukwila or Wesley Homes Healthcare Center of Des Moines.
