1928 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Will J. Clardy Jr. Obituary
Will J. Clardy, Jr.

Will Jouette Clardy Jr. died peacefully in Auburn, WA, July 29, 2018. He was 89 years old. He lived a full and blessed life.

Will is preceded in death by parents, Will J. Clardy Sr. and Mary (White) Clardy, and survived by his wife of 67 years, Priscilla Ann, sister Eleanor (DeDe) Wester of Henderson, NC, four sons, Robert (Ann), Will (Rebecca), of Renton, WA, John (Stacie) of Maple Valley, WA, and James (Angelika) of Austin, TX, nine grandchildren, a great grandchild, and nine nieces and nephews.

Will was born December 28, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA. The family lived there for Will's childhood, spending summers near Asheville, NC.

He met his future wife, Priscilla, at Duke University, during his junior year. He won a coin toss for their first date and they were smitten! He graduated from Duke University with a bachelor's degree and got married soon after in Durham, NC.

Will was offered a four year scholarship at Duke through the NROTC, but chose to join the Marine Corps rather than the Navy. After officer training he was sent to Korea. He made it safely home, unlike many of his buddies.

He and Priscilla moved to Priscilla's hometown of Houston, TX, where he joined Prudential. The family moved many times during his 31 year career. Will retired as a vice president of Prudential and President of Prudential's Realty Co. at the age of 55. He and Priscilla moved from New Jersey to North Carolina. They lived near Will's sister DeDe Wester (Millard), and enjoyed happy years with them.

In 1991, they moved to the Seattle area. They spent much time with their sons and on Will's favorite pastimes - golf and travelling! Trips include numerous cruises and guided tours around the world. Will also enjoyed "riding the rails" with his train buddy, Dittman Harrison, Priscilla's brother of Columbus, TX.

In 2007, Will and Priscilla moved to Wesley at Lea Hill in Auburn, Washington. They are members of Fairwood Community United Methodist Church in Renton, WA.
