William Rasmussen Obituary

William (Bill) and Doris Jean (Deege) RASMUSSEN Bill was born 4/6/21 in Seattle WA. and passed away on 2/16/2011. He graduated from Queen Anne High School (he could recite their school song) and then went on to earn a degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington. He served in World War II as a Warrant Officer for 4 years. Deege was born 9/14/1923 in Duluth MN. and passed away on 12/19/2009. She moved around alot until her high school years when her family settled in Seattle. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to earn a degree at the University of Washington. Bill and Deege married in the 50's and moved to Bellevue WA. where they raised their family. Bill ran his own construction company in the Seattle area for many years. Deege worked for Friedlander's for many years and at the age of 50 became a model. Once they retired, they became snowbirds going back and forth to Laguna Beach CA. In 2004, they moved from the home Bill built in Woodridge to Laguna Woods CA. They both loved the Huskies and were season ticket holders for well over 50 years. They loved life and enjoyed travelling and visiting friends. Every year they would go to Mexico where they enjoyed soaking up all the sun. They enjoyed the horse races in Santa Anna as well. In 2008, they returned to WA and moved to Evergreen Place in Renton WA. They loved the community there and made many friends. They are survived by their two children Jan (Greg) Still of Bellevue WA and Howard (Debbie) Rasmussen of Edgewood WA. They also have three grandchildren that they adored Christopher (Dodi) Still of Maple Valley WA and Tyler and Julia Rasmussen of Edgewood WA. Bill is survived by his sister Esther (Chuck) Miller of Sedona AZ, Gordon (Susan) Rasmussen of Mercer Island WA and Tom Rasmussen of Kent WA. A joint service will be held for them at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent on Monday Feb. 28 at 10 AM. If you plan on attending, please arrive at least 15 minutes early. A celebration of their lives will follow. You can sign their online guest book at Barton Family funeral home. In lieu of flowers, you can send a donation to Evergreen Hospice of Kirkland. Mom and Dad-We love you both dearly and please know that you are missed.
