Our heartfelt condolences to you Dave,April, Alica and family. Your dad was quite an amazing man, and we were priveledged to know him for 20 plus years! He was always a bright spot at family gatherings, with many, many great stories to tell.He loved being with people and we always loved having him with us. And Dave, you were the best son any man could ever want and I know how proud your dad was of you. You took excellent care of him, and were so attentive to his every need. He loved you very much and I am sure he is somewhere with a brand new audience to tell his stories to. Our love to you all in this sad time....Kathy and Jack and family

I am Peggy (Layer) Birnel. I knew your family when we were all quite young. In fact, I remember when David wanted to be known as "Davey Crockett!" That was sooo cute!
Now I understand why your parents always wanted to serve our family of eight. One time we were invited for Thanksgiving Dinner. Our parents had a problem with the turkey (it just wouldn't get done). So we were served dessert first. That was the first time it was ever demonstrated to me to make "lemonade out of lemons."
I think of your parents occasionally. It is really a great comfort to know that your wonderful Dad is in heaven with the Lord. His life is a candle to light the way for others. Thank you for sharing his life with us several years ago.
