William (Wally) MILLER Beloved father passed away at home on April 17, 2011, at the age of 92. Born on February 19, 1919, Wally grew up and attended school in Tacoma, Washington. A World War II veteran, Wally later co-founded with his wife, Eva Jeanne, Miller's Interiors Inc., one of the leading floor covering dealerships in Seattle. He spent his career building the family business and was very proud that the company continues to operate today under the supervision of his grandchildren. Wally enjoyed success as a Scoutmaster during the early fifties with troop 325 in Richmond Beach, Washington, where he was also instrumental in developing various athletic teams that participated throughout the Seattle area. In this way, he became known in the community as one who was committed to helping kids develop the ability to strive for excellence in all their endeavors. He continued this commitment on to eventually coach baseball at the semi-pro level through the early 1960s. Later in life, Wally and Eva Jeanne enjoyed playing golf while living in Palm Springs during the last twenty-five years until they moved back to Seattle full time, where his wife passed away in 2004. Wally was known for his personable spirit, his commitment, and friendliness to all he came in contact with. He is survived by his brother, Dr. Maynard Miller of Moscow, Idaho; son, Joe Miller and wife Judy, son Gary Miller and wife Joanne, daughter Virginia Cagle and husband Randy, fourteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. A private burial was held for the immediate family. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

My sincere condolences to the family of Wally Miller. As a ceramic tile setter, Wally was my employer for 27-1/2 years until I retired in March, 1990. He was a shrewd businessman, a just employer and very good friend. He kept me working all these years and called me "Ace". He never did pronounce my last name right. Mrs. Miller, his life long partner and business associate, was a dear, sweet lady. May they rest in peace.

I remember Wally as being very good to his Mother, my Auntie Queenie. I used to see him occasionally in Seattle then when I lived at her house and later in Palm Springs when we visited my parents, Leonard and Kay Nelson. Wally was my Dad's first cousin. I will remember Wally as a loyal husband, son and father and as a hard worker.

My wife Susan and I send our condolences to the Miller family. We have fond memories of Wally"s humor and concerns for the wellbeing of his family, employees and community. We learned much from him while active as builders in Mill Creek. We know he touched many lives in a positive way and is udoubtedly a great inspiration to his thirty grand and great-grandchildren...Susan and Peter Van Giesen
