Wilma FOOTH Obituary

Wilma Krans FOOTH Wilma Footh, age 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Her death was a result of complications from Myelodysplastic Syndrome and, eventually, Leukemia. Wilma was born on April 29, 1932 in Iron River, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science from University of Michigan in 1954. She went on to New York University where she earned a Master's of Science in Physical Therapy. From there, she boarded a Greyhound bus heading to Seattle where she fell in love with the city, the scenery, the people and, in particular, her husband of 50 years, Dick Footh. She worked for many years as a physical therapist, including as a clinical instructor at the University of Washington School of Physical Therapy. Wilma was a great fan and supporter of the arts in Seattle, including the Seattle Opera, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Seattle Symphony and the Bellevue Art Museum. She loved playing tennis at the Mercer Island Country Club, golf, sailing and bridge. She was a proud member of the Sunset Club and an enthusiastic supporter of the Ryther Child Center in Seattle. She is fondly remembered as a loving wife to Dick, mother to her two daughters, Suzy and Barbara, and grandmother to her four grandchildren, Sara, Malcolm, Anna and Morgan. A memorial service will be held at the Sunset Club on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Valet parking. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Wilma Footh Fund, P.
