SPC Kevin James GRAHAM SPC Kevin James Graham, age 27 of Fort Lewis, Washington passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 while fighting for our country in Afghanistan. SPC Graham was born March 30, 1982 to Sandra and Daniel Graham. He joined the United States Army in July of 2007 and chose to serve his country as a mortarman. He completed basic training with Foxtrot Company, 1st Battalion 50th Infantry Regiment, 198th Infantry Training Brigade. After completing Basic Training and AIT, he was assigned to 4th Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division serving as a mortar carrier driver. SPC Graham had a love for classic cars that extended beyond reading about them he owned one. SPC Graham was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, A Purple Heart; the Army Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. While serving he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal and the Expert Marksmanship Badge. He is survived by his wife, Krystal Graham of Fort Lewis, Washington; a son, Brian Graham of Fort Lewis, Washington; his parents, Sandra and Daniel Graham of Benton, KY and three brothers. The Graham family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Interment services will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Fund or to the Gold Star Families at Fort Hood. Services have been entrusted to the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
