Obituary Condolences

Hiroshi Harry HASEGAWA Born May 12, 1919, San Gabriel, CA. Died Jan 26, 2010, Des Moines, WA. After serving as a WWII medic in the all-Nisei 442nd, Harry and wife Anna (Sakaizawa) raised their family in the York Center Co-op, Lom bard, IL. As a Chicago Public School teacher, Harry inspired students to pursue careers in sci ence and education. He was a founder of the York Center Park District, and the Illinois Prairie Homesteaders. Harry and Anna retired to Wesley Homes, Des Moines, WA, and enjoyed the fel lowship of the Covington Commu nity Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna; children Marty (Cindy) Hasegawa, Betsy (Scot Barg) Hasegawa, Ellen (Kevin) Bruning, Carol Hasegawa, and Sheryl (Tom Arthur) Hasegawa; grandchildren Tim, Phil, Hayley, Mark, Matt, Allie, Alex, Tyler and Kyle; great-grandchildren Kora, Logan, Abby and Owen; and brothers, Sam (Suzuko) Hasegawa and Reo (Setsuko) Hasegawa. A memorial celebration is sched uled for Sat, Feb 13, 2 PM, Wesley Gardens, 815 S. 216th St, Des Moines, WA.
