Mildred A. Wright

Devoted mother and grandmother, accomplished social worker, and tireless advocate for social causes, Mildred A. Wright passed away on January 29th at the age of 92. A woman of extraordinary compassion, conviction, and wit, she will be greatly missed but forever loved by her many family and friends. Daughter of Clara and Elmer Seasword, she was raised in Chicago by her mother, grandparents John and Appolonia

Schukay, and aunt Alice Schukay. She received her undergraduate degree from Rosary College and her MSW from St. Louis University. She was married in 1957 to Donald Wright, who preceded her in death, along with their son, Bernard. Much of Mildred's long career as a social worker was with Catholic Community Services, where she supervised adoption services.

She is survived by children Paulette (m. Paul); Thomas (m. Therese); Henry (m. Patricia); Stephen; Katie (m. Greg); and Julia (m. Stephen); and her grandchildren Andrew, Jamie, Benjamin, Mari, Jane, Samia, and Anna.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Benedict's Church (1805 N 49th St,

Seattle) Feb. 15 at 11:30 a.m. Remembrances may be made to Food Lifeline (www. foodlifeline.org).
