Alfred Andenes

Alfred Andenes was born in Seattle on December 16, 1926 to Johan and Eline Andenes. He passed away peacefully on February 13, 2014 after a long illness.

Al was a lifelong resident of Ballard, graduating from Ballard High School in 1944. He worked as an electronics technician, retiring from Raytheon Company, Marine Division, in 1991. In retirement he volunteered at Group Health Senior Programs and later at the Friday Lunch program of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Ballard. He was an active member of Our Redeemers Lutheran Church.

Al is survived by his wife, JoAn; step-children Julie Marrion, Scott Cummins and Tim Cummins; five grandchildren; his sister June Reinhardt; and cousin Asbjorn Lunde.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 2PM in Thomsen Chapel of St. Mark's Cathedral, 1245 10th Ave E., Seattle WA 98102. Memorials are suggested to the Ballard Food Bank, 5130 Leary Ave NW, Seattle WA 98107. Arrangements entrusted to the care of People's Memorial Funeral Cooperative.
