Karl-Heinz Bohm, 90, passed way March 2, 2014, in Shoreline, WA.
He was born September 27, 1923, in Hamburg, Germany, but has been a resident of this area for 46 years.
He was a professor of astronomy at the University of Washington from 1968 until 1994, and continued astronomical research at the university for a decade thereafter.
He was an avid skier and kayaker into his sixties.
Karl-Heinz Bohm is survived by his wife of 60 years, Erika Bohm-Vitense; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hans-Juergen Boehm and Soroor Ebnesajjad of Palo Alto, CA, and Manfred Boehm of Mountlake Terrace, WA; two daughters, Helga Boehm of Snohomish, WA, and Eva Boehm of Seattle; two grandsons, Erich Boehm and Arman Boehm, both of Palo Alto, CA; two granddaughters, Lindsay Ward of Lynnwood, WA, and Ashley Hollenbeck of Lake Stevens, WA; brother Horst Bohm of Germany.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 13 at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave. N, Seattle. Funeral Service will be held at Evergreen-Washelli,
Seattle, on Friday, March 14 at 2 pm.
