Margaret (Mickey) Zunick|
Margaret (Mickey) Zunick passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Mickey was born in 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Miriam Monroe. Mickey fell in love with Seattle upon moving to Mercer Island with her family in 1968 and has lived in Bellevue since 1978. Mickey was full of life and left an impression on all who met her. She had a deep love for her family and her many friends.
Mickey was the co-owner of Settlers of Seattle, an estate business in the 1970's, and later worked for Boeing. After retiring Mickey volunteered for many years at both Overlake Hospital and the Bellevue Police Department. She continued to be an active member of her much loved Monday Mercer Island bridge group and she remained a die-hard supporter of the Mariners; she was convinced this was going to be their year. Mickey's dog, Mojo, was a much loved companion.
Mickey is survived by her children, John (Mary Jo), Teri and Anne; grandchildren, Andy, Amy, Emily, Elliott, Nicole, Monica and Michael. She was preceded in death by her brother, John, and sister, Mary Ellen.
A mass and celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9460 NE 14th Street, Clyde Hill. A reception will follow in the church hall.
