George Dean

George was born November 18, 1917, in Bellingham, WA, to Homer and Edna Dean. He met his wife of 58 years, Margie (passed 2003), while stationed in Chicago during World War II. He worked for KOMO and National Life of Vermont Insurance Company in Seattle. He was devoted to his family and church. His favorite topics were Russian history (especially the author Dostoevsky), the Greek and Hebrew languages, and ham radio. He was also an outdoorsman, enjoying camping and hiking, and was for many years the Scoutmaster of Troop 88 in Magnolia. He is survived by daughter Kathy (Fred), son John (Nikki), granddaughters Stephanie (Grant) and Becky.

A brief memorial service will take place at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 19421 Ashworth Ave N, Shoreline, WA, on Saturday, May 3, at 9:00am, followed by a reception.

Funeral and burial will follow in South Carolina.
