Carolyn Lee Bray|
Carolyn Lee Bray of Bellevue passed away peacefully on August 2, 2014, she was 85. Carolyn was born in Seattle to Moore and Muriel McKinley. She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended the University of Washington where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Simmons College in Boston. She returned to Seattle where she met her husband of 52 years, John Edward Bray. Carolyn and Ed moved to Bellevue where they spent the rest of their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 2005 and her younger brother Moore. Carolyn loved golf, bridge and travelling with her husband, family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Dana (Renton), son Kevin and daughter in law Lee Ann (Issaquah) and son Tom (Issaquah), Grandsons Gavin (Maple Valley) and Iain (Issaquah). Carolyn had a passion for charity work and spent many hours at Ryther Children's Center, HARC Guild of Washington and Children's Hospital. She continued to serve as a board member and PanHellenic advisor for the Pi Phi Sorority. Carolyn and Ed were members of Overlake Golf and Country Club where they met many wonderful lifelong friends. Carolyn was Women's Captain at Overlake in 1980. They were also members of the Washington Athletic Club and Presidents Club at the University of Washington. She loved tailgating and attending Husky football games with friends. Carolyn and Ed were season ticket holders for over 50 years. Carolyn loved gardening, flower arranging and entertaining. She was always eager to volunteer for an event or help in any way at her club or affiliation. Carolyn was a loving wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. The family would like to extend special gratitude to the many incredible people at Aegis of Bellevue for the care and love they provided our mother the past two years. A memorial is scheduled for August 26th at 12:00pm at the Sunset Hills Memorial Park, 1215 -145th Place SE, Bellevue with a reception to follow at Overlake Golf Club, 8000 NE 16th St, Medina.
