I will miss my Uncle Bob, who I last got to visit in Arkansas in 2001 while Aunt Ginny was still alive. My Mom always called him her "baby brother" and now they are all together again. Rest in peace dear loved ones. My heart goes out to my cousins, Don Hanson and Kathy Jacobson and their families.

Bob Hanson was a good officer on the street, a good supervisor at whatever rank he held and always had my support...both professionally and personally.

Bob was also a grad of Ballard High, and proud to have grown up in the Ballard area. I was fortunate to have had Bob as the Chief when sworn in with others as Sgt's. He always had a smile and greeting whenever you approached. He was also my neighbor and friend from Marrowstone Island. Bob has been gone from the State for sometime, but he will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him. My condolences go out to his family.

I worked in the Chief's Office as the Department's Community Relations Officer under Chief Bob Hanson and he was always a gracious and friendly boss. I had the opportunity to work with him on an effort to get Arson made as a Part I Offense while he was President of the IACP. He would always stop in the office and ask how things were going and if I needed anything. To his family my deepest sympathies, Chief Hanson was a good man and a good cop. He also had a great Chief's Aide, Chief Bud Vandewyer, who I also had the great pleasure to work for.

Dear Lanie: We are so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We have thought of you both so often and the suprise time we enjoyed together in Maui a few years ago. Bob was a great guy and we sure will miss his super Bloody Mary's. Our love to you.

I was a patrol officer in 1977 when Chief Hanson brought me into the Public Information Unit. While I was there for three years, my first year there was Chief Hanson's last year prior to his retirement. He did me a great favor with that appointment for it gave me the opportunity to gain a more "global" perspective of department operations. He was a good man and there was never a time when he didn't make me feel that there was any distance at all between the lofty position of C.O.P. and my position at the other end of the organizational spectrum. I respected him both as a person and as a "boss". I'm sorry to learn of his passing.

To Bob's Family, Many good times were shared with Bob and Jim, back in the 50's bouncing at the old Flame Tavern near Northgate. We always shared these memories when we would meet. He will be missed. Prayers to his family.
