George Carl OISTAD, Jr. George Oistad, husband, father, grandfather and friend, died Decem ber 28, 2008, having suffered lympho ma only four months. George was born in Everett, Wash ington, August 30, 1939. He was al ways pleased to say he was a true Washingtonian. He attended Lincoln High School, University of Washing ton (Architecture) and Harvard Uni versity (School of Design). George was a partner in TRA Architecture, Engineering, Planning and Interiors. He designed projects in the United States, Europe, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, China, and the Pacific Rim. In 1995 he retired from his architectural practice and enjoyed a rich life dur ing a long retirement. George was passionate about his piano and played frequently every day. He free ly offered graphic designs for his church and all organizations he adopted. Knowledgeable in a broad spectrum of history, George would relate an historical event if one would but give him the opportunity. George is survived by his wife, Georgia; his son, Treg and wife Holly; and his two grandchildren who captivated his heart wholly. The family wishes to thank all those who supported George during his illness. He was appreciative of the care and kindnesses shown to him. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Sunday, January 11, 2009, 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 111 NE 80th St., Seattle 98115.
