Obituary Condolences

Richard LUNDQUIST Beloved son, brother, and friend, Richard Lundquist died on August 12 after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by many of his countless friends and family. Richard was born March 29, 1946 in Bremerton, Washington to Robert and Doris Lundquist. He graduated from Sammamish High School in 1964 and the University of Washington in 1968, where he earned an MBA in 1970. After serving on the Board of Directors for the in Seattle, he joined Seattle City Light as a Power Analyst. In the late 1970s, he took a time out to travel alone around the world for a year and a half; his experiences were many! After returning home, he joined the Seattle Health and Human Services Department where he retired from in 2007. Richard fought an even longer battle than cancer having contracted rheumatoid arthritis at 19. Although his suffering was great, he seldom complained, never avoided participating, and always contributed. He established many lasting friendships. His positive spirit, friendly voice, and joyful presence will be missed by so many. He was brave to the end. He is a true hero. Good bye ol' friend. Richard is survived by his parents, Robert and Doris of Bellevue, sisters Joan of Wichita, Kansas and Carol of Longbeach, Washington, and brother John of Anchorage, Alaska. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009 2:00 p.m. at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 411 - 156th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98007.
