Betty Lou (Zuppe) Woodhouse

Obituary Condolences

Betty Lou (Zuppe) WOODHOUSE Betty Lou (Zuppe) Woodhouse passed comfortably and with her immediate family at her bedside Tue., May 4, 2010, in Seattle. She had been fighting pneumonia and a return of cancer. She was 83. In those 83 years, Betty was a beloved daughter to Louis and Gretchen Zuppe; high-school sweetheart and cherished wife of 63 years to Alan J. Woodhouse; treasured mother to her children, Jeffery, Susan, and Janice, and daughter-in-law, Patricia; and revered grandmother to Ryan, Jaykob, and Robert. Thanks to the many close friends who were able to visit during her final days. As she rested, we believe she was somehow aware of your presence. She passed only after being able to ensure that her family was at her side. Born June 14, 1926, in Ballard, Betty met Woody in middle school. They married following graduation from Ballard High School, and bought a home in Magnolia. Betty and Woody lived there for four decades, raising their family. Later, they purchased a condo, where they resided until Woody took ill. Necessity forced several moves in recent years. But Woody always had Betty's love and support, then returned it - with interest - when she took ill. A celebration of Betty's life is being planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Washington Children's Home Society.
