Obituary Condolences

Sharon Gayle SKIBA Sharon was born in Tacoma, WA to Albert and Marilyn Lamb. She was the oldest of four girls. The family moved to the south of Sea Tac airport neighborhood when she was very young and she stayed in the area until she graduated from High School. Sharon graduated from Highline Community College in Des Moines, WA with a degree in Flight Attendant. With the oil embargo in full force the airlines weren't hiring, so Sharon went to work for The Boeing Company where she worked many different jobs including Human Resources. While in H.R. she met her husband, Rick. They married in June 1981 and have been married for 29 years. After 10 years with Boeing, Sharon quit to be astay-at-home mom. Matthew was born first and a year and a half later, Megan followed. When the kids were in elementary school, Sharon began volunteering at the kids elementary school, which she did for many years. She also volunteered in many areas at their church, Zion Lutheran, working in the library, serving on many committees, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She also became very active in and attended Bible Study Fellowship for many years. An opportunity opened up at their church for an Office Manager and Sharon was hired in 2004. She worked there for 5½ years before having to quit because of her cancer diagnosis. After a 12 month long battle with cancer, Sharon died August 2, 2010. Sharon was 56 years young. Sharon's hobbies include: studying the bible, reading, hardanger needlepoint, quilting, music and camping and hiking. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Rick; son, Matthew; daughter, Megan; sisters Sandy (Terry) Taylor, Kristi Bankhead, Susie (Jeff) Gehrig and many nieces & nephews.
