Obituary Condolences

Capt. Perry E. BAUNSGARD USN Ret. Perry E. Baunsgard 81, of Allyn, WA., passed away September 2, 2010, with loving family members at his side. Perry was born October 6, 1928 in Seattle to Helen (Perry) and Stanley Baunsgard. He graduated from Lincoln High School Seattle, class of '46 and the University of Washington class of 1950. Mr. Baunsgard had an extensive Naval career beginning with NROTC while attending theU. of W. and retiring in 1974 at the rank of Captain. Perry was proud to have been aboard the U.S.S. Turner Joy from 1959-1961 as Supply Officer, and traveled extensively during his 21 years of service. Upon retirement Perry and his family moved to the North Shore of Hood Canal. Perry owned North Mason Tax Service and retired in 1993. Perry loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a great passion for travel, skiing, hiking, golf and being aboard his boat The Flying Cloud. He also loved reading, singing in the church choir and always carried a song of love in his heart. Perry is survived by his wife Brenda, his son Curtis (wife Candy), and daughter Lisa Barcom, grandchildren; Brooke Lawrence (husband David), Erin, Kristin, and Neil Baunsgard, Jessi Peterson and Mathew Skiles, great-grand children; Tana and Trey Lawrence. He is preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children Patricia Cowell Baunsgard and brother Stanley Baunsgard. A memorial service is planned for 10:00 AM September 18th at St. Hugh Episcopal Church in Allyn. Remembrances may be made in memory of Perry to The of Western WA. The family wishes to thank Ashley Garden of Bremerton and Kitsap Hospice for the loving care Perry was given during the end of his journey.
