Obituary Condolences

Michael Joseph SAUTER October 10, 1957 ~ November 29, 2011 Mike was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Carmel Moran and Harry Sauter. The family relocated to Seattle and became very involved in the Magnolia community. Mike attended Our Lady of Fatima where he excelled in sports and was very proud of being on the Magnolia Little League Allstar team at age 10. He then attended O'Dea High School where he played varsity baseball and basketball making many life long friends. He won a scholarship in baseball to a Jr. College in Chehalis. He continued his baseball career at Seattle University where he graduated. Mike worked for St. Joseph on Capitol Hill for many years increasing his ever growing circle of friends, one of whom Carol, became his wife of 24 years. He then went into real estate and eventually started his own firm. Mike's passion was his family. He was a very involved father and coached many of their athletic teams as they grew up. He also coached many other teams in the community. If he was not in the office or coaching he would be quietly sitting in front of the TV enjoying a sporting event. He was an avid sports fan with intense and educated opinions on players and teams. Mike was a very spiritual person and held his relationship with God dear to his heart. This helped him throughout his life and will continue to help his family. He was strong supporter of those in need and gave of his time and talent in many ways. Mike is survived by his wife Carol Gilmore, his children Ryan, Rory and Mary Colleen, his siblings Jim (Linda), Terry (Trish), Mary Ann (Steve), all his nieces, nephews and extended Seattle and Chicago family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Carmel and Harry Sauter. Mike died unexpectedly and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Friday, December 9th, 2011 at St. Joseph Church - 732 18th Ave E, Seattle 98112. Arrangements are being made by Hoffner, Fisher and Harvey.
