Stuart NORWOOD Stuart Lane Norwood, 54, died at home with his family by his side on February 15, 2012 after a courageous battle with primary brain cancer. Stuart was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Wendell and Prilla Norwood. He was raised in Bridgeport, Washington with many cousins and friends. He was an excellent athlete and loved sports of all kinds but golf was his absolute favorite. He moved to Seattle, following community college in Spokane, to pursue his career with the Boeing Company and retired at the onset of his illness after 32 years of service. Stuart was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Jill for 11 years and they were friends for many years before marrying. He was also a beloved Father to his son Timothy James - the apple of his eye - and enjoyed coaching him and the Ballard Cheetahs in their first season of t-ball before he became ill. Stu will be remembered for his bright blue eyes, his laugh, his stories, and his incredible compassion for other people. He had a love for life, a positive attitude and a gentle spirit of kindness. Stuart was dearly loved by his family, innumerable friends and neighbors as well as his many co-workers. He will be greatly missed by all. A Funeral Mass will be held in Stuart's honor in Seattle at St. Matthew's Parish at 1240 NE 127th Street on Friday February 24, 2012 at 11:00AM.A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Committal Service at Evergreen-Washelli at 11111 Aurora Av N (west side) following the reception.
