Obituary Condolences

Willard P. JOHNSON, MD Age 84, passed away Feb. 13, 2012 in Edmonds, WA. Born June 26, 1927 in Mexia, TX to John Edward and Anna Blasdel Johnson; he attended Mineral Wells H.S., the Univ. of Texas, & UC Berkeley, and served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. He married Elaine Carlock in 1949. They had five children and were married 23 years. Willard earned his MD from UT Galveston in 1953 and entered the US Public Health Service, eventually becoming Medical Director of the Seattle PHS hospital and retiring in 1972. He joined the Seafarer's Medical Clinic in San Francisco as director in 1973; married Judy Ismach in 1974, and they lived in CA for 32 years. Willard loved his work & his family, music, playing piano by ear and singing. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, travel, and good food and drink. As his health declined Willard moved to Amazing Grace Adult Family Home in Edmonds to be closer to his children, who are grateful for the excellent care he received there and also from Providence Hospice. Willard is survived by his first wife, Elaine Johnson; his children, Kristin (Rick) Stoner, Stephen Johnson (Susan Omura), Katherine Johnson, and Matthew Johnson (Janis Fulton); his stepchildren Theresa Ismach and Richard Ismach; eight grand-children; and his brothers John E. Johnson and Morris (Carole) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son David, his sister Kay Griffin; and his second wife Judy Ismach.
