Mr. Michele Antonio Prontera was born in Lecce, Italy on Friday, October 19th of 1917 and passed away in Issaquah, Washington on Saturday, September 29th of 2012. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Mary Prontera and his daughter Angelina Donovan.
Mr. Michele Antonio Prontera served in the Italian Army. After being captured in South Africa, he came to the United States, met and married his wife Mary, worked as a barber for over 60 years until his retirement at the age of 90!
He is survived by his sister Rita Prontera; daughter Rosalie Possenti (Chuck); grandchildren Michaelann Tidmore (David), Anthony Donovan (Stella), Deanna Piersawl (Kevin), Jamie DeLaPaz (Michael); great-grandchildren Jaxson, Cristiano, Gabriella, Adrianna, Mossimo, and Valentina. Michele is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Washington and in Lecce, Italy.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Seattle, Washington followed by a reception hosted at his home of 60 years. Care for his remains has been entrusted to Columbia Funeral Home.
