Bob passed away peacefully on October 4, 2012 in Seattle. Bob was born in Seattle on May 10, 1946 and was a life time resident of Mercer Island. He graduated Mercer Island High School in 1964.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974. Bob started a long career in the hardware business, starting at Welch Hardware. After it closed, he joined the Builder's Hardware and Supply family and worked there for almost 30 years.
Bob loved sports, including fishing, bowling, skiing, tennis and most importantly playing golf with friends, family or anyone who wanted to join him.
His greatest accomplishment was making everyone around him laugh and enjoy life. All who met him could not help but smile and be cheered up by his happy disposition.
He is survived by his two sons, Elliott and Ian Gardner, his sister & brother-in-law, Sandee & John Harvey, and brother, Ben Gardner and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 3pm at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 4400-86th Ave SE, Mercer Island.
