Rose Marie Crow Obituary
Rose Marie Crow

Rose Marie Crow (Smith) passed away peacefully Oct. 3 in Seattle. She was 95. Rose Marie was born in The Dalles, OR, and grew up in Seattle, graduating from Queen Anne High and the University of Washington. She married Willard Crow on November 26, 1939. From Beacon Hill to Bellevue, they raised four children born within five years. Merry Ann, Richard, Carol Lynn and Guy all grew and had families of their own, providing Rose Marie and Willard with nine grandchildren. Rose Marie took a keen interest in her children and grandchildren ~ taking them to museums, the ballet and the opera, and instilling in them a life-long appreciation of art and culture.

Rose Marie returned to the University of Washington when her children were grown, graduating in Early Childhood Development in 1963. She taught Early Childhood Education at Bellevue Community College for 17 years. Rose Marie shared her husband's desire to see the world, and as they traveled, she often studied and advised preschools throughout the world.

Rose Marie was a dignified woman with strong morals and a keen sense of right and wrong. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bellevue. Rose Marie was expectant of good. The smallest things delighted her, and she shared her gratitude generously. As her son said, "She was someone who shone a light of kindness on everyone she met."

Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Willard S. Crow, and her daughter, Carol Lynn Crow. Remembrances may be made to Principia College, Amnesty International, or .
