Edwin Charles Hopp

Edwin Charles Hopp passed peacefully on October 27, 2012, from a stroke.

Ed was born September 14, 1925. He was raised in Rainier Beach and graduated from Auburn High School. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and participated in the invasion of Okinawa. He married Edith May Warnke during the war.

Ed worked as a printer at the Seattle Post Intelligencer and Times for a number of decades. He was known to family and friends as a fabulous boogie-woogie piano player. He was an avid skier and a member of Sahalie Ski Club for many years. He is survived by his wife, Edee, son Jerry and wife Dorothy, son Tom and wife Shelley Young, grandsons Greg and Ian, granddaughter Sherry Hansen, and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be a brief military memorial ceremony at the Tahoma National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14.
