Lorraine Harriet DeLaurenti Obituary
Lorraine Harriet DeLaurenti

Lorraine was born in Seattle, on November 3rd, 1918 and passed away in the home of her daughter on November 14th, 2012, surrounded by her loved ones. Lorraine was a graduate of Franklin High School in 1936 and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1978. She married the love of her life, John DeLaurenti, in December of 1941. John preceded her in death, in 1984. Also preceding her in death were her loving siblings Millard, Baby Harold, Margaret and Leona. Lorraine is survived by her son, Jerry (wife Joan), daughter Linda, grandchildren Nicole (husband Brian), Deron, Dana, Derek and loving Nieces and Nephews.

Lorraine was an incredible woman with many passions, first and foremost dancing with "her Johnny". She loved family gatherings and kitchen parties. She loved dinners out with her nephew Gilbert, complete with martinis and ice cream sundaes. She loved her weekly visits to the hair salon, getting pampered and gabbing with The Girls. She loved trips to the river cabin, sitting in her rocker swaying to Lawrence Welk. She was an avid and loyal Baseball fan who could talk stats with the best of em'. Her passion for politics burned strong, never afraid to speak her mind. Lorraine was a determined woman, uniquely defined by her personality. She was kind, loving, strong, sassy and maintained a fantastic sense of humor. She greatly treasured her family, extended family, very dear friends and neighbors.

You will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.....

we love you, our dearest Lola.

A very sincere and heartfelt thanks to all who have been so tremendously supportive, caring and thoughtful during this time.

At her request, no funeral service will be held, though we will forever celebrate her life. In her honor, donations may be made to Providence Hospice of Seattle or Fred Hutchison Cancer Center.
