Pearl Barrat, a long-time resident of the Seattle area, died Wednesday, December 5th 2012, after a long battle with a neurological disorder, from pneumonia.
Born in November 24, 1927 in Vancouver, B.C., Pearl met her deceased husband of 58 years, Solly Barrat, and were married in 1945. Together, they raised three devoted sons, one of whom died at the age of 29 from leukemia.
Pearl was loved, respected, and admired by many and had a special charisma that made people feel special when they were around her. She loved good food and socializing, enjoyed playing cards and mahjong with friends, and cherished travelling with her husband and family. She was a kind, thoughtful, and generous mother, adopted mother, grandmother, other family relation, and friend. She was a bright business women and was very successful in her partnership with her husband in real estate investing.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Michael & Dixie Barrat and Harold & Penni Barrat, and her grandchildren, David Barrat, Brian Barrat. and Rachel Wanamaker. Her family brought great joy to her life.

The funeral will take place 12:30 Friday, 12/7 at Herzl Cemetery, 16500 Dayton Avenue North in Shoreline.
