Beverly "Joan" Gurr Obituary
Beverly "Joan" Gurr

Beverly "Joan" (Uren) Gurr, 79, Renton, Wash., passed away December 22, 2012 surrounded by her family. Joan was born November 15, 1933 in Rockville Center, NY, the daughter of Arthur & Yolanda (Dawson) Uren. She graduated from Massapequa Park New York High School in 1951. She married George Gurr in 1952. Many relocations were involved with George's job with the BLM, from one side of the country to the other, more than once! From this union 7 children were born and, aside from the Lord, her children were her loves!! Joan worked in the nursing profession for over 20 years. Including tenures at Highline Community Hospital, Burien, Wash., Holy Rosary Hospital, Ontario, Ore., and Pioneer Nursing Home, Vale, Ore.

Mom was a Daughter of Jesus Christ her entire life and she loved to read, sing, pray to and converse about her relationship with Christ any chance she got. She is now in His presence, with a whole body without pain, and that truth brings her family much joy!

Mom LOVED animals (all of them), daisies, roses, knitting and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mom, you were our rock, our mentor, and our friend. You will be missed more than even you could guess!!

She is survived by her children, her legacy, (all 7 of them): Karen (Dan) Yraguen, Fruitland, Idaho; Steven Gurr, Bonney Lake, Wash; Susan (Dave) Miller, Yakima, Wash.; Donna (Steve) Hull, Kent, Wash.; Heather (Jim) Macfarlane, Fruitland, Idaho; Barbara Donohue, Issaquah, Wash.; Tom (Julie) Gurr, Sammamish, Wash., 15 beloved grandchildren and 3 beloved great-grandchildren, 1 brother, Bill Uren, Bellevue, Wash., and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Donna Uren Toughlian.
