Carol A. Johnson, 83, moved to her heavenly home January 10, 2013 while at her sister's home in Surprise, AZ. She was born in Tacoma, WA on March 31, 1929 to Einar and Anne (Mellum) Solheim. Carol graduated from Stadium High School followed by working as a civilian for the Army from 1948 to 1958. She moved to Seattle and worked for the Navy as a contract specialist until retirement in May 1985.
Carol and her husband Floyd also built an Amway business. They were recognized for being one of the first "Billion Dollar Milestone" during 1979-80, Amway's twenty first year. They worked up to Emerald Direct status before Floyd passed away in February, 2009.
Carol loved to crochet and read cook books like a novel. Her first love was music. She played the piano, organ, and vibra harp for churches in the Tacoma area from 1945 through 1971. It was a God given talent as she did not take lessons.
Carol attended New Day Ministries in Seattle, Peoples Church in Tacoma, Living Rock Foursquare Church in Anacortes and Church on the Green in Surprise, AZ.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law; Eunice & Clarence "CR" Miller of Surprise, AZ and many nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
A funeral service for Carol will be held 12 noon on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Living Rock Foursquare Church, 2415 37st. Anacortes, WA 98221 followed by a reception. Burial will take place 1:00pm Saturday, January 26th 2013 at Mountain View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499 with a reception to follow. Memorials in Carol's name may be made to Trinity Broadcasting Network, P.O. Box A, Santa Ana, CA 92711.
Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.
