Mary Virginia Worth

Mary Virginia Worth passed peacefully in her sleep at Aegis Senior Living in Shoreline on Monday, January 21st surrounded by her family and friends.

Mary was born in Tacoma on July 22, 1922 and lived in the Seattle - Tacoma area all her life. She graduated from Roy High School in 1940 and for many years, worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Tacoma.

Mary was married to Benjamin Worth for 47 wonderful years before his passing in 1997. She had three sons, Nicholas Worth (Tina) of Virginia, Benjamin Worth, Jr. of Tennessee and Jeffrey Worth (Cindy) who passed away in 1989. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren, Nicholas Worth Jr., Virginia McKenzie, Stephanie Worth and David Worth; two nieces, Diane Spelhaug (Larry) and Susan Brookins (Hal) and nephew, Douglas Barry (Kris). She also had a great granddaughter, Theresa, plus great nieces and nephews and her beloved sister-in-law, Jean Barry.

The family would like to thank the kind and considerate staffs at Aegis Senior Living, the Poly Clinic, Swedish Health, Providence Hospice of Seattle and for the compassionate care provided by Drs. Bruce O'Neill and Mathew Yuskaitas.

A celebration of Mary's life and reception following will be held at 2 pm Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Aegis Senior Living, 14900 1st Ave N., Shoreline. Remembrances may be made to the Providence Hospice of Seattle.
