Shirley E Driscoll|
Born in Seattle Oct. 13, 1937, passed away at her home in Des Moines, WA Jan. 26, 2013 from Alzheimer's & Parkinson's.
Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and a loyal friend to many. Worked at Boeing, Thunderbird Tavern, Second Chance and for over 20 years at King County Jail as a corrections officer.
Shirley celebrated 40 years of sobriety as a member of the Aurora Fellowship Fremont Group where, as one of the "old-timers", she was known as "Big Shirley" and opened her house as a halfway house (the "Densmore Zoo 2") where she mentored many and fostered teens trying to live clean & sober.
Shirley loved beachcombing, soul music, hunting for bargains in her favorite shops, watching scary movies, loved animals of all kinds and hated seafood.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Bill Driscoll and her mother Phyllis "Pat" Carlson. Survived by sister Lori Babler of Chehalis and four children: Mark Dennison of Chehalis, Patty Iglecias of Dallas; Grady West of Seattle and Lori Lowe of Des Moines, as well as 8 grandchildren.
