Wava Irene Scott, born March 12, 1916, in Willow Lake South Dakota, left us on January 18, 2013, at the age of 96. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Scott (Norm Vigus), Marj LaPorte (Dennis LaPorte), her daughter-in-law Judith French-Scott, her three grandchildren, Ashley French-Scott Iemnak (Kitti Iemnak), Mona Whaley (Chris Whaley), and Ben Vigus, and her five great-grandchildren, Jasmyne Iemnak, AlanaClaire Iemnak, Louis Iemnak, Charlotte Whaley and Catherine Whaley, Kathy Christman long time friend and caregiver. For the past two years Wava lived at The Great Shepherd Adult Family Home where she received loving care from the staff and owners. Wava was a long-time member of University United Methodist Temple. She was a Super Mom and Grandma, caring for her family and anyone who needed caring for, always ready to drop what she was doing to help. She worked for Fredrick and Nelson in alterations for years and could put everything back together as well as create anything made of fabric or leather. She was an avid walker, traveler, a basket maker, cookie baker, and gardener, famous with her family for dead-heading plants so that they would keep on producing flowers. This was the way she lived her life, taking care of everything so it would keep blooming.
Predeceased by husband, Robert C. Scott, and son, Larry A. Scott. A memorial service and celebration of life will be scheduled this summer so her far-flung grandchildren will be able to attend. A notice of the memorial will be published in this newspaper. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a
