Judy and Dennis Schulte
Services for Dennis Leo Schulte, 66, and Judith Kay (Dwyer) Schulte, 68, retired Indiana Public School Educators, will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the gymnasium at Western High School, 2600 S. 600 W, Russiaville, IN, at 7:00pm. Family will receive visitors in the gymnasium from 4:30-7:00 pm. Dennis and Judy died in Seattle, Washington on March 25, 2013. They were residents of both Kokomo, IN and Seattle, WA.
Dennis was born in Reed City, Michigan on August 17, 1946 to Ralph and Evelyn "Jackie" Schulte. He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970.
Dennis graduated from Purdue University with Degrees in Education and Mathematics. Dennis was a much loved teacher and coach. His proudest coaching moments were those he spent coaching his son, Dan, in wrestling.
Dennis and Judy (Dwyer) were married at St. Patrick Church in Kokomo, IN on June 25, 1971.
Judy was born on February 1, 1945 in Kokomo, Indiana to William Joseph and Sarah Carothers Dwyer. Judy earned both her Secondary Education and Master of Arts teaching degrees from Indiana University. She also earned a School Secondary Counselor Certificate at I.U... Judy was a much loved teacher and guidance counselor. Both she and Dennis enjoyed volunteering in their daughter Marilyn's classroom.
Judy and Dennis were members of Russiaville United Methodist Church in Russiaville, Indiana.
They moved to Seattle to spend time with their grandson, who was born on March 15. The last ten days of their lives were filled with joy!
Dennis and Judy are survived by their daughter Marilyn Sue Schulte, Indianapolis, IN (Scott Rice), son Daniel Martin Schulte, their daughter-in-law Karina Ulriksen-Schulte, and newborn grandson Elias Jose; Schulte, Seattle, W. Dennis is survived by his sister Susan Tanner (Rick) and brother Paul (Sherry) of Kokomo, IN and sister-in-law, Kathy, Seattle, WA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Schulte.
Judy is survived by her brother Dr. J. Hugh Dwyer (Jo), Philipsburg, Pennsylvania and Kokomo, Indiana ,and sisters Susan Morton (Steve), Cottonwood, MN; Mary Pat Burrous (Sam), Walton, IN., Ruth Dwyer (Dean Spenner), Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law Rita Hedges, North Vernon, IN, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Sarah I. Dwyer and nephew, Justin R. Burrous.
Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory in Russiaville, IN is assisting the family.
