Stanley P. Mork

Stan Mork was born August 13, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington, and passed away surrounded by family on April 17th, 2013 in Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his father, Erling Mork, and is survived by his wife, Maria-Rosa Arte;s, children Megan Hanifin, Paul Mork, and Nina Mork, mother, Robin Blanton (Harold), step-mother, Judy Mork, brothers Stuart (Laura), Steve (Kathy), Tom, David (Suzan), John, Hiram (Odette), Matthew, and sister Julie (Derek). Stan received his B.A. degree in English in 1980 and his M.F.A. in English (Creative Writing) in 1996, both from the University of Washington. He was a loving husband and father, an avid reader, and had a great sense of humor. Stan will be remembered for his strength and extraordinary optimism. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for his dedicated caregivers. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish in Kirkland. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
