Roy G. Soper

Roy G. Soper, our beloved, passed away May 2, 2013. Roy was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother. Born in Portland, Oregon February 7, 1940, he graduated from Eureka High, in California in 1958. Before settling down in King County, Roy lived in AK, CA, OR and CT. He found his passion while volunteering as a firefighter for Dist. 44 Fire Dept. He would later qualify as one of six paramedics that pioneered the emergency response unit Medic One in South Seattle. Roy was a paramedic for 30 years; he co-authored the EMT Manual, making a name for himself with his courageous leadership and passion for his work and family. He is survived by his children Guy, Teresa, Mark, Bradley and Nathan, his sister Dona, his grandchildren Ryan, Ariel, Karita, Kenneth, and Kate.

He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Marilyn in a private memorial service at Hillcrest Cemetery. An open house will be held Thursday, May 9th at his residence from 1-7pm.
