David W. Paul|
David was born June 30, 1944 in Cherokee, Iowa, grew up in Hankinson, North Dakota and lived in Seattle after studies at Carleton College (B.A.), Johns Hopkins (M.A.), and Princeton (Ph.D.). David was an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Washington, a writer, critic and editorial consultant; his first novel is forthcoming in January, 2014. He was a lover of classical music, sports, theater, and film. He enjoyed the community of All Pilgrims Christian Church, interfaith activities, family, friends, and neighbors. David passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2013.
David is survived by his brothers, Harold J. Paul (Marilyn) and Justus Paul (Lynn). Nieces Ellen (Laura), Rebecca, LeAnn, and Susan (Grady). Nephews Jay, Tim (Jan), Steve (Sarah), and James (Sherri). And, eleven great nieces and nephews. And, partner, Nancy. We shall miss his gentle manner, his great intelligence, wisdom, warmth, caring and commitment to those who have been blessed to share his mind and heart.
