Douglas Bryan Still passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May, 27th 2013 - Memorial Day. He was surrounded by many loved ones. His passing was way too soon and very unexpected. We are grateful knowing his eternity is certain in Heaven and is now with his loved ones who have preceded him.
Douglas B. Still was preceded in death by his wife Frances Lee Still and son Larry Still and his parents, Grover B. and Nannie Louise Still. Doug and Fran would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 22. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Still of Kirkland, WA, his sister, Betty Norwood of Seattle, WA , sister-n-law, Jean Still, of Auburn, WA, and, brother in law, Alvin Drake of Simpsonville, S.C. and several cousins and nieces and nephews.
Douglas was born 8/18/29 in Greenwood, S.C. He attended Greenwood High School and left high school to join the Armed Forces where he served in Korea for several years. He returned to Greenwood, South Carolina and met and married Frances Lee Drake on June 22, 1953 and moved to Seattle shortly after. He worked for Safeway in West Seattle for several years and then left and started his own Exxon Service Station franchises in the south Seattle area.
Doug loved his church family at Foster Tukwila Presbyterian very much. He looked forward to seeing them every week and being involved in the various activities.
He was a wonderful and loving father, dedicated and loyal husband, great friend, brother and Uncle to many loved nieces and nephews. His sweet, joyous and giving spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Services will be held on Sunday, June 30th at 2pm at Foster Tukwila Presbyterian Church. Address is 14401 56th Ave. So., Tukwila, WA. 98168.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memoriam to Smile Train - a non-profit organization that helps children with cleft pallets", and/or to Foster Tukwila Presbyterian Church.
