Virginia A. Redfield Obituary
Virginia A. Redfield

Virginia Katherine Redfield born December 16, 1923, died peacefully August 29, 2013

Virginia enjoyed a long and full life. Born in California, she graduated from L.A. High School and U.C.L.A. Then she attended Princeton Theological Seminary. While at Princeton she fell in love and married Richard Redfield, a Presbyterian clergyman. Her marriage to Richard was a fifty year love affair. They had three children, Katherine, Elizabeth (Betsy) and Susan. During the first thirty years of her married life, Virginia devoted her life to raising her children and being a full partner in Richard's ministry. Always a modern mother, she encouraged her daughters'

independence, educational pursuits

and to experience the world. In the following decades, Virginia achieved great success as a real estate agent in Burien, Washington.

Being a grandmother brought

immeasurable joy to Virginia. She traveled with her grandchildren internationally and introduced them to the joys of our world. Her husband Richard died in 1997.

In 2004 Virginia married the second love of her life, Robert Vogt. Together they experienced six years of happiness and love. Her keen interest in the world fueled her passion for international travel. Her favorite city, Paris, is where she requested her ashes be scattered in the Seine River. Virginia is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Messerschmitt, Susan Gossman (Bill) and Katherine Meeks (Michael) and two grandchildren, David and Elizabeth Meeks.

Memorial service is 2:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at United Methodist Church, Edmonds WA. Memorial donations may be given to the Edmonds Food Bank, or Mary's Place,
