Kathleen "Kit" Ann Kelly died at the age of 62 on November 7, 2013, in her Seattle home after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Her memorial mass will be held at St. Bridget Church at 4900 NE 50th St in Seattle, WA on Sunday, November 17 at 2pm. Donations in Kit's memory can be sent to St. Francis House, a Catholic charity located at 169 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122.
Kit was born September 25, 1951, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Bridget Constance and William Kelly. She completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Iowa. After living, working, and making lifelong friends in Wayland, Massachusetts and Memphis, Tennessee, Kit and her family relocated to Seattle in 2006, where she continued to practice as a radiation oncologist at the University of Washington Medical Center. She treated cancer patients and their families with generosity and compassion for over 25 years.
Kit was always a giver, and she changed the lives of countless people with her gifts of love, care, and good advice. Her devoted husband Fredric Hoffer, and her four children, Brian, Daniel, Kelly, and Fiona Hoffer, remain ever grateful to have had such a strong, amazing woman as a wife and mother.
Kit's family would like to thank Dr. Hannah Linden and her entire care team at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and Providence Hospice of Seattle.
We love you, Kit ~
We will miss you fiercely.
