Leonard C. Richardson

Leonard Richardson of Lynnwood, WA passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Swedish Hospital, Edmonds, WA.

Leonard was born in Omaha, NE on March 13, 1930. He attended high school in Tacoma WA. He spent nine years in the US Air Force, where he met and married his wife, Janet in 1951 while stationed at Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV. He served in Korea from 1953 to 1954.

After military service, he attended the University of Washington in Seattle WA, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1960, and moved on to Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian University where he attained his Masters of Divinity in 1964. He ministered to the church at Bonham TX, and was ordained at First Church in Seattle WA. He moved to Seattle in 1967 with his family to minister at Lake City Christian Church, Seattle WA from 1967 to 1974 before retiring from church service. He then served as District Manager for Community Care Licensing, Dept. of Social Services for the State of California, retiring in 1992. Leonard was very active in the community and the church. Leonard is survived by his wife Janet Richardson, daughter Janet Ann Barbour, granddaughter Anastasia Johnson, grandson-in-law Doug Johnson, son Lee Richardson, daughter-in-law Jerri Richardson, grandson Connor Richardson, brother Andrew MacAoidh Jergens, and sister-in-law Linda Busken Jergens.

A memorial service will be held at Lake City Christian Church on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:00PM.
