Dorothy F. Smith Pinney

Born December 19, 1935, in Seattle, WA, passed away on December 31, 2013. Dorothy attended Roosevelt High School where she established many enduring friendships. She was a graduate of the University of Washington with a BA in Early Childhood Education. Dorothy was married in 1954 to her one true love, Robert Pinney, who has preceded her in death. Dorothy has also been preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Mary Smith, and her sister Genevieve Morrow. She is survived by her sister Veronica, brother George and wife Sue, five loving children, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dorothy loved children and worked with them for many years in various forms of education and social services. She was a devoted Catholic, was active in the St Mark Catholic Church choir, and developed many cherished relationships within her Parish. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her friends, sewing, crafts, the arts, and nature's beauty but detested yard and house work.

A Rosary will be held for Dorothy on 01/07/14, 10:30am, at St Mark Catholic Church, 18033 - 15th Place NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. The Funeral Mass will follow the Rosary at 11:00am. A reception will be held at St Mark at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass. Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St, Shoreline, WA 98155. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy has requested that donations be made in her memory to the Shoreline Fire Department Aid Car Fund, 17525 Aurora Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133. Funeral arrangements were made by Bleitz Funeral Home.
