Arthur Owen Hildahl|
Arthur Owen Hildahl passed away peacefully in his sleep February 1 at St Joseph Hospital in Bellingham surrounded by loving family. He was born June 16, 1918 to immigrant Norwegian parents Edward Hildahl and Ingeborg Salveson Hildahl. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and began his 44 year career with Boeing as a Jr Engineer. During WWII, he took leave from Boeing and resigned his commission in the Coast Guard Reserve to proudly serve his country in the Pacific theater as a Marine. After the war he met and married Elaine Elizabeth Russell at Denny Park Lutheran Church August 28, 1948. They made their home on Magnolia Bluff and started their family, Cynthia, Joel and Jennifer. Later, they moved to Edmonds and spent many happy summers at their cabin in Birch Bay, which he later remodeled. They spent their retirement at Birch Bay and in Yuma AZ. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elaine and children Cynthia Beam (David), Bainbridge Island, Joel Hildahl, Camano Island and Jennifer Greene (William), West Seattle, nine grandchildren: Hilary & Elliot Beam; Aaron, Seth, Owen & Ethan Hildahl; and Angela, Emily & (Arthur) Robert Greene. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters: Edith Ostlund and Evelyn Kappler.
