David Edwin Arthur Holmstrom Obituary
David Edwin Arthur Holmstrom

Dave passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2014 in La Quinta, California at the age of 70. Born in Seattle, Washington on September 3,1943. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Linnea (Sanders) Holmstrom and brothers John and Bob Holmstrom.

Dave grew up on Haller Lake in North Seattle where many life-long friendships were formed and his passion for sports began. He loved to tell us all the story of his first ever golf game as a young teen at Jackson Public Golf Course using a set of borrowed clubs. Dave graduated from Ingraham High School and the University of Washington Business School.

Dave is survived by Elaine, his loving wife of 37 years; his children Todd (Robin) Holmstrom, Brett Holmstrom, Dannette (Bill) Koperek and Trina (Paul) Zunker and four wonderful grandchildren; Christopher, Andrew, Benjamin and Carly.

With more than 40 years in the banking industry, Dave enjoyed career success and was a board member of Golf Savings Bank. As the bank grew, Dave left the board to help startup and manage their new commercial real estate lending division, then retiring to La Quinta in 2010. With a love of golf throughout life, Dave and Elaine were members of Mill Creek Country Club and Indian Wells Country Club. Dave and his family spent many weekends golfing, boating, waterskiing, camping and watching sporting events. Dave was an avid Washington Husky fan and wore his purple and gold proudly.

With residences in Seattle and LaQuinta, many wonderful friendships were established where Dave imparted his compassionate and sometimes humorous views of the world to all those around him. He will be greatly missed, always remembered and loved.

A celebration of Dave's life will take place at a later date in Seattle. Check the website Http://Tributes.com for an announcement of Dave's life celebration. You may also leave messages to share with Dave's family and friends.
