Leanne Durham Obituary
Leanne passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1st, 2014, after a 9 year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Seattle, WA, to Alice and Gunnar Korsgaard on July 10, 1939. Her mother's parents and her father were born in Denmark and during Leanne's lifetime she was blessed to make 10 trips to visit her relatives there.
She attended the Highline Schools and met her husband to be when she was in the 9th grade and playing violin in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. They married in 1961 after graduating from Washington State University. She taught 1st and 3rd grades in Highline S.D., WA, Bethel S.D., OR, and Kent, WA. After their three children were in school she returned to the Kent School District as a Library Assistant at Soos Creek Elementary.
Her favorite activities were reading and collecting children's literature, gardening, quilting, flower arranging, writing encouraging notes and studying the Bible. She is survived by her husband David, their children, Karl (Lorraine), Karen Harkness, and Trina Peters (Perry). She was blessed to have four grandchildren: Sarah and Christina Harkness, Kelson and Ryan Peters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22nd, at 2 PM, at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kent. Remembrances may be made to First Evangelical Presbyterian Church or the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Please sign Leanne's online Guestbook at www.Legacy.com.

Dear Dave and family, Leanne was a blessing to all and will be missed. We know she is with our Lord and because of her testimony we are stronger Christians. Thank You Leanne for being the strong person you were. Our Love and prayers will be with the family always, Bill & Alice Anderson

I have know Leanne since first grade at Mt.Vew and graduated with her in 1957 from Highling High School. I have fond memories of meeting at her house to watch her Mom braid her hair before we walked to school together. Take comfort in your memories as time passes.jGod bless your family. Dear Dave and Family, We are so sorry for your loss, but know you are comforted that LeAnne is now pain free and in the arms of Jesus. You will all miss her terribly, hang on to those precious memories. We are on Maui until Dec. 17 so will miss the Memorial. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Aloha, Dave and Joyce Langley
