Doris Wiese Obituary

Doris Marie Wiese

Doris Marie (Prinslow) Wiese died peacefully at the age of 83 on June 8, 2015. She was born the tenth child of twelve on April 13th in Centerville, South Dakota to Charles and Alice Prinslow. Her family moved to Woodburn, Oregon, where she met and married Ted Wiese in 1954. They moved to Seattle in 1962 where they spent the rest of their lives together raising their eight children.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Ted Wiese, 9 siblings, and son, Greg. She is survived by her brother Robert (Anneliese), sister Marylou Rigdon (Bob), children Constance Sanders (Rich), Lawrence, Julie Hanson (Bruce), Lisa Hansen (Karl), Thomas (Wendy), Margaret Haack (Jeff), and Paul. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and one great grandson, many nieces and nephews, and countless beloved friends, old and new.

She loved spending time with her family, shopping, Wii bowling, celebrating birthdays and holidays and singing alto in her church choir. She loved The Blessed Virgin and angels, and we're sure she's among them now. She'll be forever in our hearts.

The funeral will be held at Holy Family Parish Seattle on Monday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m. Remembrances may be made to the Seattle Holy Family Parish St. Vincent DePaul Society.

So many happy memories of Doris, and definitely in the top 10 was being in the presence of all who love her at a mass in her honor at Holy Family on June 15. To see how Doris and Ted live on through the family they created was a special occasion. What a joy to observe, at a big round table, all the "baby" Wiese's, Doris' grandchildren all gathered together - leaning into a family bond on a very special occasion. Thank you, Doris, for being a treasured friend to my mom, for the beautiful children you gifted to the world, and for leaving us with a happy memory of you: Laughter with a Doris touch - always tilting your head back just a little when you let loose a laugh, broadcasting Joy to everyone around you. Thank You, Doris. With gratitude, the Wheir's will always remember you.

Oh my Doris, I'm really going to miss you. I always loved hearing your stories about this man I married...I know he was treasured just like one of you own, and we're so lucky to share in the family that you and Ted gave us. I loved your sarcasm, and loved the way you loved. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and your grace. See you on the other side...If I can straighten myself up. Give Ted and Greg a great big hug for me! Love you always!

Doris was litteraly my second mother, having grown up with this family has truly blessed me in so many ways I will always remember limbo in the living room. My thoughts and prayers go out to my other siblings

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Doris. I have such fond memories of visiting with her during my visits with Connie, Rich, Charlotte, and Ryan in Seattle. She was always so nice to talk to and was interested in what I was doing. Over the years, when she spoke or wrote to my parents, I know that she always asked for me which I always appreciated. Doris will surely be missed and I hope that you will all find comfort and peace in your memories. Love, Anne Jacobs

Mom, you brought joy and laughter to so many people, you were a friend to everyone you met, always so proud to brag about your children and grandchildren. I hope you will know how much you will be missed - somehow we will go on but with heavy hearts and never forgetting you.
Love always,
Julie

I cherish the memories of the Wiese/Wheir ocean vacations over the many years. Doris was always so funny, loving and dare I say mischievous. I am sure there is an ongoing party in heaven with Ted, Doris, Harold, Marilou,Greg etc there! Love you Doris. You'll be greatly missed.
